Dragonettes Shine, Winning Two Out of Three

The York Dragonettes demonstrated their prowess last week, claiming victory in two out of three games on the road. The first game saw the Dragonettes overpower Stone with a decisive 62-38 win on Tuesday.

The Dragonettes set the tone early in the first quarter, scoring 23 points to the Lady Panther’s 12. Reese Beaty led the charge with an impressive 20 points, with Emma Pile adding a 3-pointer. The second quarter saw both teams score 10 points, with Beaty contributing another 6 points, and Pile and Raylee Werner chipping in 2 points each.

The Dragonettes continued their dominance in the second half, outscoring the Lady Panthers 29-16. Beaty added another 8 points to her tally, while Werner and Zoe Gibson contributed 5 points each. Pile, Emma Cooper, and Cali Franklin each added 3 points, and Emily Doss scored 2, securing a 62-38 victory for York.

The next two games were part of the Turkey Jame Hoopfest at Johnson University. The Dragonettes faced a setback in the first game, losing 45-51. However, they bounced back in the

second game, clinching a 54-34 victory.

While the loss was a disappointment, the Dragonettes' overall performance in the three games was commendable. Their resilience and determination will be key as they move forward in the season. Their next game will be at home on Friday against Stone.
